School starts at 9.00am. We welcome pupils into school from 8.45 when a member of staff will be on duty.
Anyone arriving after 9.00am should enter through the Reception area.
Registers are open until 9.10 although if your child enters the classroom after 9am they will be classed as late.
Our morning session runs from 9.00-12.00.
Each morning the children take part in early morning learning activities from 8.45-9.15
The children will take part in lessons until 10.30 when we go out for a morning break of 15 minutes. During this time they eat their healthy snack which is provided for them.
After play, the children go back into classes and take part in learning activities from 10.45-12.00.
The lunch break is from 12pm-1.10pm. The children have the opportunity to play outside.
Lunch is served in the canteen for the children who have hot dinners and in the Café for those who have pick and mix or packed lunch. When it is summer, the children can eat outside.
On the playground children can then take part in a variety of planned activities including dressing up, football, space hopper racing and riding bikes.
The afternoon session runs from 1.10pm until 3.10pm.
At 2.45pm children will join assemblies.
Monday assembly is our celebration of work, this is held at 10.45 to include our children in Nursery. Tuesday is whole school singing assembly at 2.45. On Wednesday afternoons from 2.40 we have whole school assembly based on our theme of the month. On Thursdays children have assemblies in their classrooms with their teacher based on PSHE themes. On Fridays we have our class assemblies where we invite parents from classes to see what the children have been learning at School.
At 3.10 children may go to afterschool activities or go home.
At Maidstone Infant School we have a house system where the children are awarded house points for good work, teamwork, following our monthly values and good behaviour. The children receive a house token and they put them in the tubes, which are situated near Mrs Girling and Mrs Thompson’s office.
The house tokens are counted monthly and the totals reported on the website.
The canteen is open from 8.30am and the children can arrive and meet with their friends. The children are sent to their classes at 8.45am and a teaching assistant will greet them and the 8.55am should enter through the Reception area.
Children who arrive between 8.55am and 9.00am will be recorded as late and unauthorised after 9.00am.

The children will take part in lessons until 10.15am when we go out for a morning break of 20 minutes. During this time they eat their healthy snack in the canteen and have the option to have milk.
After play, the children go back into classes and take part in learning activities from 10.35-12.00pm.
The lunch break is from 12pm-1.00pm. The children have the opportunity to play outside. Year 5 and 6 are seated first for their lunch in the canteen and packed lunch room. Year 3 and 4 follow afterwards. Robins have their in their classrooms.
Lunch is served in the canteen for the children who have hot dinners or pick and mix (Monday to Wednesday).
The afternoon session runs from 1.00pm until 3.25pm.
At 3.00pm children will join assemblies on a Monday, Tuesday and fortnightly on a Friday for praise assembly.
Monday afternoon assembly is based around the theme of the month by the Head of School. Tuesday is a whole school assembly lead by subject leaders, class teachers or visitors from the community. On Wednesday afternoons from 3.00 we have class assemblies in classrooms. On Thursday mornings we have class assemblies for an individual class to share their learning with the whole school and parents. Fortnightly on a Friday, we have praise assembly to celebrate children’s learning in each class.
At 3.25pm children may go to after-school activities or go home.
The children are all allocated a house team- blue, red, green or yellow which are all led by teachers in the school. Their P.E t-shirts show the team they are in.
Sports day is an event where the children work as a house team to score the most points and win the school trophy.
