Swans Summer Newsletter

Welcome to the Summer Term!

This term we will be studying the Anglo Saxons and finding out about how they lived. We will be doing a variety of different activities which will end with an Anglo Saxon themed Day on Wednesday 10th July. More information will follow closer to the time.

Children are expected to read 5 times a week, and they all have a bookmark that they can record on. An adult needs to sign the bookmark each time your child finishes a book so that reading records can be updated regularly.

Each week the children will be sent home with a spelling list to learn. Children will be expected to write each word in a complete sentence. The books will be collected in each Monday, and new words will be sent home.

We would also ask you to help and encourage your child to learn their times tables to help with multiplication and division work this term.

This term PE will be on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings.  Please ensure that children have their PE kits in school at all times as extra PE lessons are often added to our weekly timetables. Please make sure that your child can take their earrings out if they have pierced ears.

Please sign up to Seesaw so that you can see what your child is learning in school. If you are having trouble signing up, please contact us via the school office.

Please remember that for enrichment sessions on a Wednesday all children are expected to be in their school jumper.

Making contact

I will be at the canteen door most days after school for an exchange of information if needed. If you would like more time to talk, please let me know and I will arrange a time with you.

Here’s to a great term of learning!
